Who may join

Anyone who studied at Govt. Inter College Ramashram (Lasya), Jakholi — whether you completed your schooling here or left partway. Both are alumni of this school, and the association makes no distinction between them.

Membership is subject to approval

Filling the form and paying the subscription creates an account. It does not by itself make you a member. Every application is checked by the association before the membership is confirmed, and you are told either way by email or on WhatsApp.

If an application is not approved, the subscription is returned in full. See the refund policy.

Subscriptions

The subscription for each kind of membership is shown on the membership form at the time you apply. Subscriptions are set by the association and can be revised by it; a revision never applies to a membership already paid for.

Subscriptions fund the work of the association and nothing else. The accounts are presented to the general body every year and the society's bank account is operated jointly by the President and the Secretary — never by one person alone.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell the Secretary at once if you think someone else has got into it.

Give details that are true. A membership obtained on false particulars can be cancelled.

Writing on the blog

Every member may write, and nothing is vetted before it goes up. That trust carries a condition: what you write must be your own, and must not be abusive, defamatory, obscene, or aimed at a person rather than an idea.

The association is expressly non-political. Nothing published here may campaign for or against any party, candidate or political cause — the society can be dissolved for taking part in political activity, and its assets would pass to the District Magistrate's fund.

A post stays public for thirty days and is then archived, where its writer can still read it. Nothing is deleted.

The association may suspend a post, or a member, where these terms are broken. The reason is recorded and the member is told what it was.

How members are asked to behave

In the association's own words: members are asked to avoid over-enthusiasm, so that we respond having understood one another's thinking, feelings and circumstances. That is the whole standard, and it is enough.

Events

Gatherings are announced on this site and by email. Dates, venues and programmes can change; the page for an event is the current version of it.

You attend at your own risk. The association is not responsible for travel to or from a gathering.

What is on this site

The association tries to keep everything here accurate, but does not warrant that it is complete or current. Photographs of the school and the campus belong to the association or are used with permission; please ask before using them elsewhere.

What a member writes on the blog remains theirs. By publishing it here you allow the association to keep it on record and to show it on this site.

Changes, and where disputes go

These terms can change. The date at the top of this page tells you when they last did, and material changes are told to members directly.

These terms are governed by the law of India. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts at Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand.

This page is written to say what the association actually does. If something on the site changes and this page has not caught up, the association would rather be told — write to us.
